THE TECHNICAL SERVICES DIVISION
The current Technical Services Division management structure at the Swaziland Electricity Company is as follows:

The Technical Services division is headed by the Technical Services Manager who, besides coordinating corporate strategy, oversees the company's support services as including the following:
- SHERQ
- Developing, implementing and monitoring an effective Integrated Management System (Occupational Safety and Health, Environment, Risk and Quality) throughout the organization.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring an effective Security system that assures prevention and minimization of theft and damages to SEC assets.
- Implementing and maintaining SHERQ Magement Systems for the company in accordance with recognized international frameworks and performing regular reviews of the these systems; noting and reporting deviations to management.
- Arranging for management reviews of the SHERQ system and defining procedures.
- Controlling the issuing and retrieval of documents in accordance with the applicable frameworks NOSA, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 requirements.
- Maintaining registers and managing incidents, customer complaints, corrective actions, preventive actions and product/service non-conformances to agreed standards
- Reviewing outstanding incidents, customer complaints, corrective actions, preventive actions and product non-conformances with responsible stakeholders
- Providing feedback on status of customer complaints to customers and liaising with customers where relevant to obtain additional information on customer complaints
- Coordination of the enterprise-wide risk assessment and management programme.
- Ensuring compliance with and conformity to established environmental legislation and requirements.
- Survey and Drawing
- Ensure the coordination and management of the Survey and Drawing Services to meet SEC business requirements.
- Providing overall administration and operations of the Survey and Drawing sections that will provide survey and drawing services and develop computerised draughting (CAD) and geographic information system (GIS) that will enhance service delivery for the company.
- Ensuring timely updating of network diagrams and schematics to facilitate the efficient and effective operation of the supply grid.
- Transport
- Planning, organizing and directing the functions and activities related to the procurement, servicing, operation, maintenance and repair of company vehicles.
- Ensuring that the vehicles operate within the requirements of legislation and comply with established company policies and procedures.
- Liaison with various departments for purposes of establishing vehicle needs and issues and assure proper and timely resolution of emerging problems.
- Outsourced Services
- Coordinating outsourced activities within SEC and ensuring that the company derives good value for money through the effective implementation and management of contracted works/services.
- Developing business relationships with companies (contractors) and ensuring adherence to set procedures and acceptable quality standards.
- Defining performance targets and establishing service level agreements necessary to guide implementation of required works.
- Ensuring adherence to safety standards and environmental requirements at all times.
- Rural Electrification
- Implementing rural electrification projects
- Managing grant funds for funding rural electrification infrastructure
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders with respect to planning, implementation and reporting of rural electrification projects.
